Legislative Advocacy

As a farmer-owned cooperative, Land O’Lakes advocates tirelessly on behalf of our members at the federal and state levels by actively engaging in issues of importance to our industry and sharing our story with audiences that may not know us or understand farming very well.

  • Working with our internal and external stakeholders to identify public policy issues important to Land O’Lakes, Inc. and our member-owners
  • Developing, advocating for, and managing our Land O’Lakes’ policy positions before state and federal elected officials and agencies.
  • Building Land O’Lakes’ brand image, presence, and political capital to actively engage in policy discussions.

Policies and Resolutions

Each year, Land O’Lakes voting delegates review and approve a set of policies and resolutions that will guide the direction of Land O'Lakes’ legislative and cooperative leadership.  The official Policies and Resolutions document is drafted by the member-elected Policies and Resolutions Committee and is focused on issues that have a direct impact on our membership, cooperative enterprise, agriculture and agribusiness.
